The speaker was pointing out how the President's foes would never concede anything admirable in him. That the 8 years had been a disaster from day one - failing to credit the fact he was re-elected to a second term, also failing to recognize any personal attributes. I'm trying to make it a point not to be guilty of the same thing during this welcoming of our new president, at least recognize the good; and being mindful to always respect the office. We have so much to be thankful for - this is a great post that reminds me to be appreciative.Rebeccahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02256471632170588840noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5601998750117961707.post-5851477000605310992008-11-14T09:55:00.000-05:002008-11-14T09:55:00.000-05:00I have seen this email too, and it really made me ...I have seen this email too, and it really made me stop and think. I think people get stuck in this rut and get greedy. They start to believe that they are owed everything when in reality we have so much. Way more then a lot of other countries, and we forget that.

Thank you for sharing this so that we can remember and be grateful for what we have.Mehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17473289178111232731noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5601998750117961707.post-66269393486593185932008-11-13T23:40:00.000-05:002008-11-13T23:40:00.000-05:00GREAT post. I love that I can take a child into an emergency room at anytime of night or day and have her treated immediately, in most cases. Or at least call 911 and have them at my door PDQ.Jekhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02351425739471454371noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5601998750117961707.post-58392590862835604092008-11-13T20:32:00.000-05:002008-11-13T20:32:00.000-05:00This was SO good! From my old college years, in one of my communication classes, it was very clear that we should not believe 80% of what the media prints or says. TV shows and celebrities deciding what is beautiful and normal and it just makes me ill... I could go on and on, but I really liked your post. -SuzanneSuzannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05847767287439635113noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5601998750117961707.post-38099479477178901652008-11-13T17:34:00.000-05:002008-11-13T17:34:00.000-05:00Nope!! No matter where you are in the states, you can get an average-above average education. Even the ghetto offers a good education should you choose to accept it. So many higher education opportunities, and opportunities to succeed. So i'm kind of with nick. If we want to be successful, we can be successful. Wasn't so much the case for some people i know in the D.R.Mitchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18109713480565487821noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5601998750117961707.post-41392888564784138362008-11-13T15:17:00.000-05:002008-11-13T15:17:00.000-05:00Amen to all that was said..I havent really dared t...Amen to all that was said..

I havent really dared to talk politics on my blog much, and have been ashamed that I havent had the guts. I really feel guilty for any complaining that I do, because we as Americans really live a charmed and Rich life.

Thanks for making me stop and ponder all that I am so richly blessed with.Ann Mariehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10374067182519089756noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5601998750117961707.post-6184491225028497492008-11-13T12:03:00.000-05:002008-11-13T12:03:00.000-05:00I read this a little bit ago, and I really loved i...I read this a little bit ago, and I really loved it. It really does put things into perspective. I think the American people as a whole can be such a joke. Again I don't claim to know much about politics, but I think everyone that bashes the system constantly doesn't know much either. I agree we have EVERYTHING in this country that we could ever want and need and we still complain that it isn't good enough. We are very ungrateful people.

I am not sure if it mentions religion, but I am very grateful that we can practice the religion we want in the fashion we want.Jayne Laynehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02896739384405934038noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5601998750117961707.post-34054171364126136202008-11-13T01:00:00.000-05:002008-11-13T01:00:00.000-05:00All very good points, thanks for bringing some per...All very good points, thanks for bringing some perspective.

I'd have to say that I'm grateful for medical technology - the ability to save a life with surgery, chemo, radiation. O is for Obama...not... it is for OPPORTUNITY.

"While there has been some inflation over the past 12 years, the exit poll demographics show that the fastest growing group of voters in America has been those making over $100,000 a year in income. In 1996, only 9 percent of the electorate said their family income was that high. Last week it had grown to 26 percent — more than one in four voters. And those making over $75,000 are up to 15 percent from 9 percent.
Put another way, more than 40 percent of those voting earned over $75,000, making this the highest-income electorate in history." - politico.com

So all this complaining about the Bush years...maybe they weren't as bad as the media would have us believe!partiihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14205692224639969816noreply@blogger.com
