The sweet, sweet sound of power tools
So I know I've already shared my fair share of Christmas stories in June. But this one's better than the elves, BY FAR. Last December I got the best stocking of my life. It was stuffed to capacity with dreamy little packages...jewelry, perfume, ornaments, chocolate, sockies, books, lip gloss and on and on. I have never had it so good! Well, when I got to the bottom, there was a red and green scroll--from SANTA himself and it read:
Dear Jen,
Because you have been such a good girl, wife, and mother this year you get to choose one of Oscar Shieffs built-in systems for your home. It includes labor, materials and design help.
Love,
Santa
I don't think I've ever cried about a Christmas present before (unless you count my first Christmas with Nick when he got me a cookbook--BAD SCENE) but this one brought on the tears! I was elated that Santa would do something like this for me. Well, this past week, his elves (the ones from Costa Rica) have been working their tiny fingers to the bone.
Nick's office on Monday...
I am thrilled beyond belief that this is happening! This room which used to be my disastrous craft/crap room will soon be a library that connects to the living room (we're knocking a door through the wall). Oh the joy! I guess it pays to be good... I love you SANTA.

You must have been a good girl! :)
Costa Rica elves? Too funny!
I love what you are doing. Lots of shelves = organization! Yay!!
Any project done is a happy-happy day around here. I will post pictures of my house as we finish rooms too. :)
My friend, you must be #1 on Santa's list! That is a dream come true. What a beautiful home you guys are creating. I am sure the Costa Rican elf sure enjoys the buttox shot of him. You might want to give Santa a heads up on the intentions of that shot!;) You have inspired me to do a little house work of my own. Have an awesome day in your new soon to be library! -Suzanne
I can't believe I never even noticed his big old bum in the picture! too funny
That really is SO exciting. What a thoughtful and nice gift. They look absolutely great! I am excited to see the finished product... Will they be done by July 18? can't wait to get back out there.
One word-jealous!
