The Weaver
Benjamin Malachi Franklin

My life is but a weaving,
between my God and me,
I do not choose the colors,
He worketh steadily.

Ofttimes he weaveth sorrow,
and I in foolish pride
Forget He sees the upper,
and I the underside.

Not till the loom is silent,
and the shuttles cease to fly,
Will God unroll the canvas,
and explain the reasons why

The dark threads are as needful
in the skillful weaver's hand
As threads of gold and silver
in the pattern He has planned.

My mom sent this to me a few weeks ago.  I thought it was so nice of her to share it with me. I love the message especially as I been thinking a lot this week about the purpose and meaning of trials and suffering.

Jennifer,
This is literally breathtakingly beautiful. I am printing it and saving it, that is how powerful it was to me. My thoughts are with those who are struggling during this enduring time. I know we have never met, but I send you all of the positive vibes I can to you and those who may be struggling. Just like the poem there is a greater purpose and meaning for trials and purpose and during our times of struggle, we need to remember our blessings and find the lesson we are meant to learn. I know that sounds easier said when out of the trial then when in one, but try to remember that we are His student and He knows our potential and because of that, be honoured that He is teaching us the characteristics that not only make us better, but divine! I hope you have a peaceful Sunday! -Suzanne

Wow! That was a really nice comment Suzanne, thank you. The poem really reminded me of the family that we did the auction for--i just can't imagine how they are (and will be) enduring such a tough trial.

I think it is a beautiful message on keeping our perspective clear and focused and submitting to God's will.

Thanks, I really enjoyed your thoughts.

That was really a beautiful post. The poem is wonderful and the music with it made it sink in even a little deeper.

Like I said before, it's all about faith.

Yes MA, it's Yanni. Get "In My Time"--that whole cd is great. The song that's playing is called "Enchantment' it's from a different album.
