He was every inch a Santa Claus
-William Joyce

One of our very best Christmas traditions is visiting Santa at Poole's General Store right up the street. He's always there the Saturday before Christmas and we wouldn't think of trading him for a fancy Santa at the mall. There he sits amongst the grain and feed and bags of old fashioned candy that you haven't seen since you visited grandma years back. He's quick with his smile and gentle enough to win the heart of most children upon first meeting.

These pictures were taken in 2004 and are still my favorite. He was so attentive and sweet to the children, and I think it comes through in the photos. He's only a Santa for one day a year, so it seems to me he really savors the experience. The kids warm to him easily as talks quietly and takes time with each one. Every Christmas it's always a great experience, but this year had a little magic about it for some reason...probably the ages of my kids.

Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold,
everything is softer and more beautiful.

I love that man! I showed him and Mrs. Claus Elizabeth's photo book from last year. I have a beautiful picture of him and Elizabeth. I think she teared up. They are precious people.

We gave him a really pretty black and white of just him in a green crackled frame for Christmas...they were thrilled with it.

Wow! Now that is the picture of Santa I have in my head. What a blessing to have someone like that do such a wonderful thing every year. Even through the pictures, you can feel something. I am just blown away! Wow! -Suzanne

Darling pictures of the kids!
He is a great Santa. ~ You can tell he is good by the fact that all of your kids are smiling. :)

Now that is a REAL santa! I took my kids tonight to see him and Olivia says to me, "Mom, I'm pretty sure that was his helper." What does that tell you about the originality of the man? p-a-t-h-e-t-i-c.
That's it, I'm moving back to MD.
