Got the Bug.

I can't believe I'm saying this and I'm really only posting it so somewhere down the line in my distant future, I will look back and know that for one brief shining moment I loved working out and actually craved going to the gym.  I am still shocked that I've been going about six weeks and haven't even tired of it. As a matter of fact, I think I like it more now than I did in the beginning.  And to think that once upon a time, I thought Curves was the answer!  I dreaded going there so bad that I think I figured the gym would be the same thing.

Anyway, it makes me feel super happy and I am starting to see results, which is the point right? And, I can't believe how much stronger I feel and how much more endurance I have.  I'm still a total wimp but when I started running on the treadmill it was only about three minutes before I wanted to puke and quit and now I can run 15 or more without mucho trouble.  I like the classes the best, and do so much better when  someone else is motivating me.  I definitely think exercising has improved my mindset and outlook and all that as well.  As an added bonus, Camille gets to go to the toy room, which I count as preschool...so seriously, how can you lose?

Do you like working out?

I will say I am not a huge fan of working out, but when I got going and stick to it, I really love it as well. I will also say I am in the BIGGEST mood to get to the gym, and get my body in order...

Like I said, it was the worst thing you and Jill did to me by showing up to Vegas looking so good...

j-mark,
Honeybear goes to the gym almost every morning. She can drop the kids and do her own thang for a couple hours. And it makes her look and feel good. We all went together this morning. Daddy got swolled up and honey got cardio. Lots of bullets in the plus column for working out. What's the downside?
And me? Well most people think I look this good on accident or something. It really is a lot of work, I just make it look easy.
My only wish is that we could all agree on the proper protocols at the gym. Like the dude seen shaving his manbeave in the group shower and smacking his razor on the soap tray to get the hairs off before going down to cut another swath. Don't get me going...

Awesome! That gives me hope BB will one day get that bug!

I've had been addicted to this workout (from Body for Life):

20 minutes on the treadmill (can be done with any constant aerobic activity). Level 1 - Slowest walk, level 10 - fastest sprint.

Minute-by-minute: 5,6,7,8,9,5,6,7,8,9,6,7,8,9,6,7,8,9,10,1

So basically, you start out at a level 5 (maybe a medium-fast walking pace) and work up to an almost-sprint until you get to a sprint at minute 19, and then have a one-minute cool-down. Really fun and intense.

Christian, That is by far the stinking hardest cardio EVER. I told Jen about it... Don't know if the newbie gym rat ever tried it.. Have you darling? But, it is a quick, HARD workout. I love the 20 minutes too!! We miss you out yonder..!!

I did something like that...I walked 2 minutes then 5678 for one minute each then repeated it two more times. that count? "I like it a lot!" (Forrest)

Jennifer isn't "I like it alot" Dumb and Dumber....?

I'm afraid jayne's right. Forrest never said such a thing. Get your quotes straight woman.

Well if it isn't "Dumb and Dumber" themselves correcting me.....are you guys SURE about that?

I am so glad to hear this!!

I keep debating the gym membership thing.. Did you do a personal trainer? I should just e-mail you because I have lots of questions..

What classes do you like most??

I am seriously looking into it!
Thanks for the post..

PS: "I like it alot" is also in Sixteen candles? One of the 80's movies Anthony Michael Hall is in..... I think it's sixteen candles. Now it's going to bug me..

I used to be really good about going to the gym, but I lost my gym buddy and then lost the will to go. I hope to get back there someday though and this post gives me alittle bit of hope. Thanks for sharing with all of us.
