Dead Mouse Revisited

Somewhere between blush and I mascara, I call from upstairs,

"Camille, are you in the brownies again?"

"Nooo, I dis holding a mouse" she hollers. (that can't be right. let's try that again)

"Whaaaaaaat did you say?"

"I dis holding a mouse."

"Camille, did you say mouse?"

"Yeah."

"Is the mouse real Camille?" (still primping) "Where are you?"

"In daddy's office. With da mouse."

"Camille! is the mouse REAL? Tell the truth." (please don't make me come down)

"It's a baby. It's sick." (sounding oddly familiar...I descend the stairs)

"I dis holding it. It's wet...Lucky played with it." (yep. it'd been played with alright).

Really now. What are the odds of this?

Oh my gosh that is too funny! That mouse got beat with the ugly stick too. Some of them are cute, not that one. Sad though.... and SICK!

Hahahaha! That is just awesome. And that mouse isn't even cute. Most mice are semi cute but that is just ugly and wrecked. Go give her some shots at the doctor. She'll need them.

I guess you forgot the lesson in FHE about picking up wet mice.
I don't even want to ask what you ultimately did with the mouse, so don't tell me.

I agree with all that has been said.. A bleach bath.. shots.. and maybe a FHE lesson about DEAD animals? LOL!
Hope your week is good... and rodent free...

You know what? I am siding with Camille on this one! As a fellow animal lover, the poor little mouse fella was tortured by the dog and she is giving it comfort and love on its last dying breath. Clearly not all mice are disease infested, hence your child is still doing just fine. I would much rather have a child that is sensitive to all animals rather than one that likes to torture or kill innocent animals.
Pardon my pity fest, my husband has been out turkey hunting and I am not a big hunter at all. Explains the sensitivity? Ok, I will leave! -Suzanne

What wonderful stories you always have! haha :) What's the next adventure?

Your lucky you don't have Banana Rats!! I can't even imagine. It's good to have a sensitive child. All animals have feelings. Camille will get some points in heaven for this one. To, to, funny.

Oh my gosh I laughed so hard reading this. I felt like I was right there. She is to funny. Was it alive or dead? Good thing you don't live in the over seas than she would say she was holding a cat, because that is how big they get over there.

WOW! What an adorable little girl and to not be squeamish about holding a mouse! She is just so cute!

You gotta love the country life---I don't know what's worse, mice or snakes! We live in the country and have harmless garter snakes that come out in the summer and my older son loves to catch and hold them.

I just have to "smile" and know that my kids love animals no matter what they are!

BTW...I have added you to my sidebar as well! I get my weekly laughs from your Blog...You are such a FUN person and it shows through in all of your posts!

And I have to tell you are an AWESOME MOM!! Enjoy the rest of your week!

I need to have her come and get our dead mice. My husband won't touch them. He has his dad drive 20 minutes to come and dispose of them (not that we have that many).

How cute! Sounds like something my daughter would do - fearless. She's a doll.

I loved the latest. I didn't know about the previous mouse verses Camille episode. Hilarious. The current one is equally as wonderful. It reminds me of coming out of my condo in Springville with Cole in tow (he was about 6 or 7) and running into a baby bird that had fallen from the nest outside my window. Well, of course, gentleman Cole wanted to get it back into its nest. Grandma had an errand, no time for baby birds; get in the car, Cole. Not ten feet away was neighborhood cat, Harry. Grandma saw Harry, and Cole did not catch on, I swear. I said: "Honey we really don't have time to take care of baby bird now, we will do it when we get back, I promise." Harry will be my friend forever. We got home, problem was solved. By the way, I was curious about Harry so I checked with his family who just moved to Findlay, Ohio. Harry went with them. Good old Harry. Love, Nanc

Cole never caught on to his grandma's deed. He had totally forgotten about it by the time we returned. Harry saved the day. Nature has a way of solving a lot of life's problems. Thank heavens. Aunt Nancy
