In a Nutshell:

I'm PARALYZED

I don't know how you are but when I have something HUGE hanging over my head I cannot function in other areas of my life.  Hence, the no blogging.  I haven't even decorated for Halloween and that's a serious shame since I do a bang-up job for October.  Sorry kids.  Forgive me this once.  In three weeks I'm involved in a huge vintage tag sale at the Kentlands Mansion in our community.  I'm joining with three ladies from the shop in Lucketts where I rent a space.  I've sort of been feeling out of my league because I have four busy kids, church jobs, meals to cook, laundry to do, homework and music practice to yell about, an absent husband blah blah....all legit? excuses why I haven't sufficiently prepared myself for this sale...right?

Anyway, I have been hitting up garage and estate sales, consignment stores, Goodwill, Salvation Army etc. all to find unique items and furniture to paint and resale.  It has been a gigantic chore and a big stress. I think once the day gets here it will probably be a blast but until that point I can think of NOTHING else.  My basement is overflowing with shabby little castoffs...and some sweet treasures I can hardly bear to part with. Where are the pics of my stash you ask?  My camera's on the blink and all the photos from Mitch's wedding and my trip to Utah are unreadable on my card. I'm very depressed about that and hope it's fixable.  Seriously great timing considering Nick is gone night and day and he's my go-to-get-it-done-fix-it fella.  He's at the Haunted Forest right now lightin' fire balls and working for screams.  I swear October is something to be reckoned with.

You go get em, girlfriend!! I think what your doing would be great fun. Enjoy yourself and have a ball and enjoy the moment!! If the kids want spooky, Halloween stuff, send them with Nick! we toned down our Halloween decor this year, so don't feel bad! Oh, I wish you the best of luck and hope you make lots of moola! -Suzanne

Like I said, let the kids decorate this year, or, forget it all together. And remember we all always freak out and then in the end say "I don't know why I freak out so bad, it was so much fun, we all should get our stuff together and do this ourselves or something yada yada yada..." You always have your freak-outs in October, but then just think, Nick becomes your whipping boy again and the possibilities and good times are endless.

You poor thing. Can you please borrow a camera to take pictures of this stuff?? PLEASE?? I am DYING here.. clear across the states wishing I could be there to see such things in a few weeks! ~ This is where we are soul-sisters.. :)

If I had the money.. I would hop on a plane and come and clean and organize for YOU! I feel bad that you are so stressed.. and I know this time too shall pass..but I still am a "fixer" by nature and feel like I need to help somehow.. :)

I miss you girls! I wish one of you was posting at least.. so we could see what's going on there.. but I do understand.. and will patiently wait.. and hope for posts from you all one day. *sigh* he-he

I'm sorry about all of the Utah pictures. The ones with me in them all are yuck except for the one with Jill and I. That one looked the best. I don't know why I seem to have the WORST hair days when I want to meet people.. but alas.. it happens.

I e-mailed Suzanne all of the photos that she was in.. and hers turned out nice.. so if you want them.. I'm sure she would send them to ya.

Good luck with the painting. Forget about the decor.. and have fun with it all.. includng the regular mom stuff...
Wish I was there to witness all of the fun!
( sorry for the novel..) ((HUGS!))

Gah! you got me with the word Vintage. If I was in MD right now I would totally help you out with that. but alas I'm not, so I'm sending you good vibes that you can get it all finished. October doesn't last forever. Which is kind of a shame because the best candy comes out of it.
