"I'm on a Boat!"
(everybody look at me)

Life in pictures, summer catch-up, wrap-up continues. As heretofore mentioned, the boys bought a sailboat in the British Virgin Islands last year. She was born in France which made me instantly like her, then Nick arranged for us to spend a week in August sailing her, which sealed my love forever.

It was actually super comfortable and we were never stir crazy. The sleeping quarters were nice--three rooms below, each with a bathroom-- complete with floaters that just wouldn't quit. Can't have it all...

logged lots of time playing "king of the world"

We didn't go on our annual beach trip this year and I missed it terribly; this was a close second, however.

We arrived at St. Mary's in about a day and a half. Here they are with Captain Ed. I thought it would be awkward spending five days with a Captain on board but he was AWESOME! I am so, so happy he was there. We all loved him and he taught Nick a ton. Not to mention he put my mind at ease during record-breaking gales.

It was a fun little break and the campus was just beautiful. Odd though--not a soul in sight, really. Quite a different experience to arrive at a destination by sea. We realized pretty quickly that without a car there wasn't really anywhere to go so we went back to the boat...

I wish I could do that so bad! I fear my chances are gone in the wind for a while....

Holy Cow, talk about updating. Where have I been? I had to go to older posts to get it all in. Wow, what fun that trip looked like. I would love to sail on a real live boat. Looks like you guys had a really fun time.

Your yard is looking great!

The two series of your vacation photos are the best. What a great event. Thanks for sharing. Aunt Nancy
