I do heart Las Vegas unless it's the Super Bowl! Nicholas and I had an awesome weekend. He spent countless hours playing Monopoly with Dad and they went to the Stratosphere and rode Big Shot. But, FOR SURE the highlight was eating at a Las Vegas style buffet--at the Orleans. Dad told me Nicholas said, "This is the best day of my life" when he saw all the food. Having total freedom, I was able to do everything I wanted to do. I love being with my mom and Jessica. We had tons of laughs and a great time. But I digress. Back to the Super Bowl. So we get to the airport Sunday morning at 9:00. Come to find out, all the high roller freaks with their private jets who are coming in town for the game, have taken up so much air space that every single flight is delayed. People are everywhere in the airport. My 10:25 is delayed until 11:30. This means I won't make my Chicago connection so they change my flight to another one at 1:15. Well, that ends up being delayed until 3:00. Then, since there's such a long line of planes, we sit on the runway until 4:00. By the time we get to Chicago we have to hover over it for 30 minutes because the blizzard is so bad. Finally, we make it but can't leave until the wings get de-iced, so that's another hour. FINALLY, FINALLY, I arrive into Dulles at 2:30 a.m.
I could've gone to London for tea and back in the fifteen hours this trip took.
However, I complain not. All I could think the entire day was--thank goodness my partner is my oldest kid and not--heaven forbid--my youngest!
