Wishing on a Lilac Bush

This is a huge, gorgeous lilac bush that sits right at the bottom of our driveway near the edge of the road.  We live on the same road that Nick grew up on, so for as long as I've lived here, I've driven up and down the same street.  Anyway, every spring I would pass this beautiful lilac bush and seriously for at least ten springs, would think the same thought, "I wish that was my lilac bush."  So as luck would have it, my wish came true.  When we first bought our home, this lilac bush was one of the first things I thought about--how ironic it was that the lilac bush I'd been wishing for, actually became mine.

Jill and I went walking this morning and were talking about how much we love the seasons, and how we've come to enjoy them more and more with each  passing year.  Even winter, which I used to be really negative about, is exciting to me now.  I love looking forward to all the predictable changes that inevitably come.  One goal I have for this spring and summer is to bring the outdoors in--especially during spring.  We have so many beautiful blooming trees and shrubs that usually pass me by; this time around I'm determined to enjoy them...

The whole downstairs smells heavenly.

Alright, you are just killing me with the flowers. We have been 20 degrees below normal and nothing wants to bloom. I have been ready for spring for about 4 weeks now and nothing but rain/snow. I should send you a picture of my baby lilac bush. Compared to yours, mine looks pathetic! Man how lucky you are, it is absolutely breath taking where you live!

So pretty. What a cute picture of little man too. I actually think I am going to stop looking at the east coast blogs... I truly get too depressed.

Beautiful! Your house is gorgeous in the Spring. It always looks great, but spring takes the cake!

I might have to second Jayne's banning the east coast blogs. It's hard enough to get up to the gray skies and cold everyday, even though it is already almost May, and then we get to be reminded how good jen and Nick actually have it! My sister saw the blog and she said "Is this girl for real?" I know, Jen is real...talented, pretty, great kids, hot husband, livin the life with her pretty flowers, etc... Too funny!!! I think it is all phony, it is just for the blog....and until I come out there myself I am going to pretend that you make it all up! Take that!!

Oh you've got me laughing good now Rebecca!

Tomorrow I'll show you the 1,ooo black ants nesting all over my kitchen counters or the toilet upstairs that won't flush so it's got... well, you know. Or maybe I'll zoom in on the neighbors that hate us so bad they flip us off every time they drive out--that should give you an alternate view of things!

I prefer the beauty....it keeps me nice : )

Okay...bring it on! Did I tell you that we had a mouse in our house. I wanted to call for advice, but it was about 3 in the morning your time! I couldn't sleep good for days because of that rotten little creature! He's caught and dead now!

And you know I love you!

I've gotta do this! We just planted some flower seeds for cutting, but I need to speed up the process and do some planting.
