BIG GAME!

Nick's company sponsored two teams this year--one for Calleva and one for the Haunted Forest.  Our buddy, Eric (eggy), coaches the Calleva one (Red Sox) and brother in law Matt coaches the Haunted Forest team (Nationals) that Nicholas is on.

The two coaches hyped up the big game when the two teams finally played each other.  They went to a lot of effort--inviting the company's staff and getting tee shirts made, setting up a bbq etc.

Nicholas is loving being on his uncle's team this year, so this game was just another great highlight of the season.

Nick dragged the ginormous grill across the field--and nearly lost his head midway through the game, when the thing came off it's hinges.  That would've felt good!

It was a fun reunion for Jayne.  She got to see lots of Nick's family and catch up with the Calleva crew...ahhh the good old days....

These pictures make it look like a nice day--but by some freak of nature--the wind was blowing like crazy and it was seriously freezing!!  I sat in Matt's truck for the last 20 minutes of the evening--it was SO cold.

Thankfully the Nationals won--but just barely.  I'm not sure Nicholas and Jack could have shown their faces the next day had they been beat by a mostly 3rd grade team.

It was a fun event.  Homerun!

Cute pics. That was a neat game. You had a big turn out, and what a good hubby to cook all the food.

Good Gravey! Ask you husband if he could find a bigger grill? I don't think it is big enough. What on earth is he grilling all the time that he needs a grill that large? You could fit an entire cow on that thing! -Suzanne

It's for his business...the grill, I mean. They run outdoor school programs where they feed 100+ kids.
But on occasion I eat 50 hotdogs in one sitting so it comes in handy.

The Umpire had been to MHF and loved it! Maybe this "helped" him make some tough calls... :)

That was really a fun day. I had a good time. I was so glad that Nicholas one, and he had a couple great hits! So many cute kids, and hats off to the chef... That started my weekend of binging. For some reason i just kept wondering back to the food table and double upped on the ranch! I'm nasty!

Nick said it...not me. Close game is right! Re-match in two years when we get to 12U! Calleva will take home the win!
