This one goes out to the ones I love....

Group Hug

With Thanksgiving in the air, I've been thinking about all the goodness in my life. Something you may know about me is that I love quotes, poetry, lyrics and all good writing for that matter, and it seems that I always have a phrase or line from a book or song running through my mind to fit my mood or the occasion. One of my favorite sonnets from Shakespeare has made it's appearance in my thoughts for days now and has filled me with grateful emotions for all the wonderful people in my life. My relationships are my richest possession and without them my life would be dark and meaningless. I am utterly thankful for the loving associations of family and friends (old and new, seen and unseen) that grace my life; I love and thank you all.

Sonnet 29

When in disgrace with fortune and men's eyes,
I all alone beweep my outcast state,
And trouble deaf Heaven with my bootless cries,
And look upon myself, and curse my fate,
Wishing me like to one more rich in hope,
Featur'd like him, like him with friends possess'd,
Desiring this man's art, and that man's scope,
With what I most enjoy contented least:
Yet in these thoughts myself almost despising,
Haply I think on thee,--and then my state
(Like to the lark at break of day arising
From sullen earth) sings hymns at heaven's gate;
For thy sweet love remember'd such wealth brings
That then I scorn to change my state with kings'.

Happy Thanksgiving

"If you love me, won't you let me know?"
(Coldplay)

Pass it on.

"What a piece of work is man! how noble in reason! how infinite in faculty! in form and moving how express and admirable! in action how like an angel! in apprehension how like a god! the beauty of the world, the paragon of animals! " - W.S.

Oh how I love Coldplay. Now I want to hear the song.

While I am very much in tune with the lyrics part of how you describe things, the Shakespeare is totally over my head.. That's probably our biggest difference..

I'm too much of an un-schooled blonde to get half of the smart words that just flow out of your thoughts and mouth. You are a super talented girl, and I feel fortunate that we have some connection somewhere...
I count your friendship ( although we have never met ) to be a great blessing this year.
Thanks for always writing and showing such great pictures of such inspiring things. You are such a great person, and I feel fortunate to have become aquainted..
Have a fabulous Thanksgiving!
XOXOXO ~ Ann

While I am sure I would appreciate Shakespeare if someone were to spell it out for me, it is quite hard for me to read, considering I usually don't understand anything :) I too wish I could pick it up and understand. I like that painting, and your words were good.

Either way, we are so blessed and this time of year always is a good reminder.

We sang that as a song in Madrigals at Clark HS & it has special meaning to me too. I was humming the tune while reading it. I, too, am grateful for all that I have & am thankful for the little things when many people this year don't even have the little things. Happy Thanksgiving!

Although this year has been completely crazy, I stood in a room monday and told a group of people that I was thankful for the new relationships that I had gained this year. You, my friend, were one of the group in my mind. Thank you for your kind comments and inspirational quotes. You are amazing and I look up to you! -Suzanne

Great post and great sonnet! You're such a wonderful sister and friend. You mean so much to everyone and have a tremendous influence on so many. Thanks for being my greatest cheerleader and support. The thing I am most grateful for this year and all other years are my loving family and friends who hold me up.

"Yes, the Lord is good to me, so I will thank the Lord..."

Hi Jen- you don't know me- I am a friend of Jessica's- your sister. We used to live in their ward in Las Vegas- so every once in awhile I sneak a peak at your blog ever since I found it several months back!! I love your writing and insight- I love how happy and full of life you and your family are- and I love that you live somewhere I've never lived- but like you, I enjoy seeing life through other people's eyes- trying to imagine it for myself. Thanks for blogging!! Keep up the good, insightful work!

Love is as much of an object as an obsession, everybody wants it, everybody seeks it, but few ever achieve it, those who do will cherish it, be lost in it, and among all, never... never forget it. -Curtis Judalet
So basically, thanks for dinner. I do love and adore you. You sweet friend you. I do never forget it!!!
