Lub dub..........Lub dub......Lub dub

I'm alive.  It's just that it's spring break.  Kids are home.  Nothing planned.  Nick's in project mode.  Kitchen's a mess.  I need attention.  Then, I find something.  And it was Some Great Reward. (recognize that?)

If you are not a Depeche Mode freak then unpack your bags, they'll be no holiday here.  Yet, if you are...indulge me.

Nineteen years ago I was young.  Young, emotional and kissing a long-haired boy in the park.  We shared enough in common, but mostly a matchless love for the boy band mentioned heretofore. I was smitten.  And then one night (in a word), scorned.  Well, not truly scorned if you look up the actual definition, but it did feel like a hot iron brand to the heart. You remember, you've been there.  So it was in the dark hours of morning, (in an effort to heal myself) I sat upright in my bed and poured pain to paper.

Preface ended, I offer you my unsent letter (down below)... filled to overflowing with palpable teen-age angst and a wee bit of brilliance, I must admit.  Misery makes a marvelous muse. But, like I said, if you're not a DM dyed-in-the-wool you may not get my Meaning of Love.

(P.S.  Cut me some slack.  This is decades before I could vent my emotions on Facebook Status).

I still get a little "veh-klempt" whenever I hear Somebody. Excuse me now - I'm getting all tingly just thinking about it...

And drat those long-haired boys.

I guess I am a die hard DM fan because I get it. I think I wrote a girl one of these letters too. But, it was to The Cure or Morrissey music probably. The real question that begs an answer is whether or not your future Bishop will let your family play your favorites at your funeral?

Seems not much has changed in 19 years Le Jafro?...?

Well... you didn't wake up this morning
Because you didn't go to bed
You were watching the whites of your eyes
Turn red
The calendar, on your wall, is ticking the days off
The calendar on your wall is ticking
the days off
You've been reading some old letters
You smile and think how much you've changed
All the money in the world
Couldn't bring back those days.
You pull back the curtains, and the sun burns into your eyes,
You watch a plane flying across a clear blue sky.
THIS IS THE DAY -- Your life will surely change.
THIS IS THE DAY -- Your life will surely change.
You could've done anything -- if you'd wanted
And all your friends and family think that you're lucky.
But the side of you they'll never see
Is when you're left alone with the memories
That hold your life together like
Glue

How do you write so good. Not only are you super talented with craft and very creative, but your writing skills are amazing.

I'm not a big DM person, but you definately drew me in....
